Fine Art Photography FAQ
Ordering a fine art photography print is a considered purchase, and it’s natural to have questions about editions, print mediums, sizes, shipping, framing, and care. This FAQ answers the most common questions collectors ask about buying a Jeff Doyle fine art print, including authenticity, limited editions, metal, cotton rag, and Lumachrome acrylic options, delivery, and returns. Artwork & Authenticity
Do you use AI to create your photographs?
No. Every image on my website was captured on location in the natural world using professional camera equipment. I do not use AI or generative tools to create scenes — my work reflects authentic moments from real landscapes.
Are your prints limited edition?
Yes. All fine art prints are offered as limited editions and are individually signed and numbered to ensure exclusivity and long-term collector value. Full edition mechanics are covered in the editions and value guide.
What is the edition size, and what happens when an edition sells out?
Each image is capped at 100 prints. That's 100 total across every size and every substrate combined. Once an edition reaches 100, it is permanently retired and will never be printed again in any format or size.
Do prints come with a Certificate of Authenticity?
Yes. Each limited edition print includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity confirming provenance and archival standards. Browse available editions
Who actually makes your prints?
I do, for the paper work. Cotton rag prints are produced in-house in my own studio, which means I control the profile, the proof, and the final inspection, and nothing ships until I've looked at it under proper light. Metal and acrylic pieces are produced by specialist printmakers I've worked with for years, and every piece is inspected before it goes out. I don't use print-on-demand services.
Ordering & Print Editions
How much do fine art photography prints cost?
Pricing varies by print size and medium. Current prices are shown directly on each photograph's purchase page when you select your size and print option. For multi-piece, custom-size, or commercial projects, contact me directly for a quote.
How do I place an order?
Open any gallery and select the image you want. On the image page, choose your size and print medium from the dropdown menus, then add it to your cart and proceed through checkout. All transactions run through a secure, encrypted checkout.
Production begins within 24 hours of your order, and every piece is made to order for you specifically.
Buying more than one piece, or working on a multi-room project? Contact me directly and I'll put together a single invoice, which usually works out better than ordering piece by piece.
What print types do you offer?
I offer three museum-quality, archival print mediums: ChromaLuxe Metal Prints, Cotton Rag Fine Art Prints with Mat, and Lumachrome Acrylic Prints. The print mediums guide explains how each behaves and which suits which space.
What sizes are available?
Sizes range from 12×18 inches up to 40×60 inches. Larger custom sizes may be possible on request.
Can I order a custom size or a custom crop?
Often, yes. Many images can be produced in custom dimensions, and I can sometimes adjust a crop to fit a specific wall. I'll tell you honestly when a change would weaken the composition, because a print that fits the wall and hurts the image isn't a trade worth making. Send me the wall measurements and I'll tell you what's possible.
Do you offer triptychs?
Yes. A triptych divides a single panoramic or wide composition across three panels, and the effect on a long wall is architectural in a way a single piece can't match. Panel proportions and spacing get designed around your specific wall rather than pulled from a template.
A triptych counts as one edition number, three panels. Send me the wall dimensions and the image you have in mind and I'll tell you whether it works.
Are large prints blurry or pixelated?
No. All images offered as fine art prints are high-resolution files carefully prepared for large-format output. Each print is produced using professional workflows to maintain sharpness, clarity, and fine detail at the final size.
How do I choose the right print medium?
Metal prints are modern and vibrant, cotton rag prints are classic and textured, and Lumachrome acrylic prints are luminous and gallery-standard. Do you offer canvas prints?
No. Canvas texture swallows fine detail and flattens tonal separation, and detail and tonality are most of what my work is about. I'd rather sell you a smaller print on a better material.
What payment methods do you accept?
Major credit cards and PayPal are accepted. If installment plans (Shop Pay, PayPal Pay Later, etc.) are supported, they will display at checkout.
What Your Print Will Look Like
Will my print look like it does on the website?
Close, with one adjustment. Your monitor emits light and a print reflects it, so nearly every screen shows my images brighter and more contrast-heavy than the finished piece. Drop your display brightness to somewhere between a third and half of maximum and view in a softly lit room, and you'll be looking at something much closer to reality.
Phones and tablets shift color constantly with ambient light and are the worst tool for judging fine art. If you're weighing a significant piece, look at it on a proper screen.
Framing, Display & Care
Do you offer framing?
Cotton rag prints are shipped professionally matted and ready for custom framing. Feel free to contact me to discuss custom framing options. Metal and acrylic prints arrive with a float-mount hanging system for immediate display. Conservation glazing, mat widths, and longevity are covered in full in the framing and mounting guide.
How do I hang my artwork?
Float-mounted metal and acrylic prints are easy to hang with standard hardware. Due to size and weight, professional installation is recommended for larger pieces. More detailed hanging instructions are available in the hanging guide.
How should I light my artwork?
Soft, even LED lighting in the 3000K to 3500K range brings out the color and detail in landscape work. Aim the fixture so light strikes the center of the piece at about 30 degrees from vertical, which keeps reflections out of your eyes. Keep artwork out of direct sunlight.
How do I clean my prints?
Metal: Gently dust or wipe with a clean microfiber cloth.
Acrylic: Use a clean microfiber cloth and follow the care instructions appropriate for TruLife's coated surface.
Cotton rag paper: Handle only by the edges and protect the print behind appropriate glazing; never clean the paper surface itself.

Will my prints fade over time?
Not under normal indoor display away from direct sunlight. All of my prints are produced with archival materials selected for long-term color stability. Direct sunlight is the main avoidable risk, so I recommend displaying the work away from sustained sun exposure.

Shipping & Delivery
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, I only ship within the United States.
How long does delivery take?
Most orders ship within 2–3 weeks. Lumachrome acrylics may take slightly longer due to their specialized production process.
How are prints packaged?
Prints are carefully packaged using protective, professional-grade materials to ensure safe delivery. Large acrylic and metal pieces travel in custom packaging built for the job, and every shipment is fully insured.
What happens if my print arrives damaged?
Inspect your piece within 48 hours of delivery. If anything is wrong, photograph the outer packaging and the artwork itself and send me the images. All shipments are fully insured, and a replacement will be placed into production at no cost to you.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs are included.
Seeing the Work in Person
Do you have a gallery?
Not at this time. A brick-and-mortar gallery adds overhead and a markup that lands on you rather than on the artwork. Selling direct means the money goes into materials and craftsmanship instead of retail rent.
Where can I see your work in person?
I exhibit at juried art shows and fine art fairs through the year. Show announcements go out through my newsletter and get posted here as they're confirmed. If you're local to the Seattle area and considering a significant piece, reach out and we'll work something out.
Designers, Commercial, and Licensing
Do you work with interior designers?
Regularly. I can supply high-resolution comps for client presentations, produce custom sizes to spec, and coordinate delivery timing around an install schedule.
Do you offer corporate or commercial services?
Yes. I work with corporate offices, healthcare environments, hospitality spaces, and multi-unit residential projects, including curated selections across multiple rooms or floors.
Do you offer trade or volume pricing?
Yes, on multi-piece projects. Contact me with your scope and I'll put together pricing and a timeline.
Do you offer image licensing?
Some images may be available for commercial licensing. Please contact me for usage rights and pricing.
Payments & Returns
Do you accept returns?
Because each print is custom made to order, returns are only accepted in cases of damage during shipping. If your artwork arrives damaged, it will be replaced.
Is there a satisfaction guarantee?
Yes. My goal is for every collector to feel fully satisfied. If you have concerns about your order, I will work with you to make it right.
